NEW MODEL 1221

DAS Alert New Annunciator Panel Model 1221

Code Requirements

The current edition of the NFPA-1221 fire code and several previous editions including NFPA-72 and the International Fire Code (IFC) describe the requirements for monitoring the performance of Public Safety in-building two-way radio emergency responder radio coverage system with a dedicated Annunciator. This component is required to be located in the fire command center. Some jurisdictions, however, require that it be located in the same room as the DAS head end.

–The DASalert Model 1221 DAS Annunciator Panel is designed to meet these requirements and contains independent circuitry to monitor the various components of the emergency responder radio coverage system.

Installation

This Panel provides an easy-to-install solution for meeting the code requirements and the flexibility to interface with any BDA, backup battery unit (BBU), outdoor Donor Antenna and any other System Components that are required.  CAT 5/6 cable up to 5000 ft can be used between the headend and fire command center. An optional fiber optic interface is also available for longer runs.

Enclosure & Power Requirements

DASalert’s ERRCS NFPA-72, NFPA-1221 Public Safety DAS Annunciator Panel enclosure is NEMA-4 rated, consistent with the other requirements of the code for the emergency responder radio coverage system. The small (7″ W x 8″ H x 3.7″D) enclosure weighs only 4 lbs. The Panel’s internal backup battery provides 24 hours of service to supplement the loss of all primary and secondary power to provide FAIL-SAFE operation. The new Model 1221 is powered by the supplied 120 VAC to 24 Vdc wall mounted power supply or any user-supplied DC source between  12 – 60 Vdc (40 milliamps max).

Other versions, currently available, can be provided that operate on 120 VAC, or 48 Vdc, or 24 Vdc. Maximum current consumption is 200 milliamps.
